I cannot speak for everyone but there is one particular writing style that I have followed since learning how to write term papers in high-school. The style that I follow begins with an introduction paragraph which basically lets the reader know what the content will be about or the purpose of the content. The purpose of the next few paragraphs is to basically support or add on to the information presented in the first paragraph.
The last paragraph is the conclusion paragraph which basically summarizes the entire content as a whole. I am not sure if there is one writing style that is a one size fits all for all writers because every one has their own style of writing. Some people use the structure above while others may choose to present information in a chronological sequence.
There are as many different ways to write as there are writers. While there are some general ideas about how best to pursue the construction of ideas, there is no ONE way. There is the way that works for you.
Try some of these suggestions and see if your writing improves. 1. Write every day.
You must practice at any skill if you expect to improve. If you are playing the piano, you must spend time at it every day if you want to get better. Writing is no different.
Give yourself a set time each day and write. 2. Start with an idea and do your best to explain your thinking.
Computers have made this much, much easier, of course. You simply need move your fingers, hit save and your work is there when you come back to it, ready to edit and adjust. 3.
After spending some time with writing, go back and read it. What do you see? What do you like?
What would you trash? Consider that and edit. 4.
If you dare, allow someone else to read it. Be very careful whom you choose for this task. A good friend will help you, but not every person can read someone else’s work and respond in a manner that will help.5.
Continue to polish and refine your ideas and start looking for an outlet for your work. There are so many places today that accept writing that you can get it published once you improve to a certain level.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
