Is there a product that allows you to plug your ipod nano into your car so that it plays through your FM radio AND charges your nano?

Yes there called FM Modulators. Just get one that plugs into the base of your iPod. It will charge your iPod and broadcast your music to your car stereo.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
