I would suggest that our career military men meet many of these ideals I'd say especially those in the Special forces: Seals, Green Berets, Rangers, Recon meet the criteria. At least the pre-Tokugawa Shogunate would be akin to our SF military members. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
