Is there a way to connect a lamp to some temporary power source when there is no electrical outlet close to the lamp?

Answer A generator. But wouldn't an extension cord be simpler? Kind of an odd question, but I'm a big fan of power inverters.

There quiet, can be plugged into a vehicle or run off a 12V battery. I have a 400W inverter that has come in very handy. I use it for road trips when I use my laptop as an mp3 player, and I have used it to power temporary lighting while redoing the electrical feeds to outbuildings Low wattage inverters are not that expensive.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
