Yeah, this is confusing, isn't it. Apple switched from the 12V usually provided by fire-wire to 5V usually provided by USB. That said, check w/ Jensen and see if there is an adaptor for your car radio.My iPod integration kit not only got a "new cable" but also a "new authentication chip".
I got both and installed them into my car. Oh, yes, you might need an authentication chip now as well. That happened last year in one of Apple's firmware updates.
If Jensen has no solution you can TRY one of the commonly available adaptors. This is not the one I have but if you amazon: "Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iPod & iPhone " you start getting the idea of what you are looking for. Still, you may find you need that authentication chip.
If you do, and Jensen is not supporting their head units, it might be time to find a new car radio. -good luck.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
