Is this why Christians are self-admittedly ignorant?

Because they think the Bible contains most of the truths they need (predictably, No Chance Without Jesus has confirmed - and conformed to - this rhetorical pattern), even though its claims about observable phenomena are plain wrong (independent of other books - it just entails using one's eyes to see that insects have more than four legs, and bats are not birds, so other books aren't the problem, reality is). They persist in these delusions because they are based in emotional need, not evidence. Once the evidence is offered, the definition of 'evidence' is changed, and the goalposts move - the conditions for evidence can never be fulfillied to sway one who has already decided on the outcome.

That is their curse, and a wretchedly dangerous one it is.

So one person said it-- not the other billion christians. Don't get your undies in a wad-- every litle christian thing get y'all hyped.. like take a ehhffin chill pill. The question asked which christian read it and that one didn't-- so?

Who gives.. oh. You do... XP.

We born again Christians do not need to read any other book because the KJV bible is the truth and all others are lies. So if you want to read all those lies, look who's ignorant now!

I went to college. Your attitude is what is ignorant.

Actually, their are many books involving Christianity, not just one.

Willful ignorance is an ugly and dangerous thing.

Reminds me of my 3 year old nephew telling me he doesn't like the food he has yet to try.

I think I'm gonna name my first born son Gilgamesh.

Yes, but that's only one out of hundreds of examples.

I read it in college. I wouldn't read it again. What is your point?

Have you read Knowledge and Decisions?

The Bible is not one book. The Bible contains 66 separate books, which were written by thirty six men who were chosen by God to script This took place over 1600 years and the evidence is in the events and the purpose of the scriptures. The purpose of the entire Bible is to tell us about our condition of being separated from God because of our sins, God's plan to bring a Savior to die in our place for our sins, Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection, that God's prophecy has taken place and about our invitation to belong to God as s adopted children through acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and our Savior.

The Bible is God's written Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. “Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation.

For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. ” 2 Peter 1:20-21. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
