Is trans-gendered a real condition, or a choice people are blaming on a condition?

I do believe it is a very real thing. Genital development and brain development are completely separate in the womb (I actually didn't know that until recently). Brain scanning has also revealed that there are "male brains" and "female brains," and while most of us think like the rest of our gender, some of us have a brain like a man in a woman's body, or a female brain in a male body.

That doesn't inherently mean that you feel like the "wrong" gender, but it's interesting to me that gender is both physical AND mental, and those two components develop on their own (essentially, without "comparing notes" with each other). I have know a number of transgendered individuals, and I don't think it's a choice. It's a very hard to walk in this world, and there is a lot of prejudice.

Many people describe feeling strange and unhappy their entire lives until they realized their body didn't match their mental picture of themselves. I don't think anyone would put themselves through the ridicule, surgery, etc. , unless it was a real thing. I also don't really understand what the big deal is.

A lot of cultures actually have words for more than two genders, and see it as a normal thing.

First of all, the terminology you're using isn't accurate. It's transgender, and it's an adjective -- i.e. Someone can be transgender, just like someone can be male or female.

This might not seem important, but trust me -- it is. Saying something's a "condition" is kind of offensive in the same way that, say, people used to think homosexuality is a disease. And yes, it's real.

The way most people describe it is that they're born into the wrong body. What you have to understand here is that gender and biological sex are two different things, and they don't always match up. When they do, that person's lucky in that he or she can fit into society better, but these people aren't everyone.

Well, I can honestly say that there are plenty of examples that show that we are born one way, and we feel another. Some would say that those that color their hair, are choosing to take on an appearance that they are more comfortable with, what makes them feel good. Same with women who get breast implants.

They feel they were "cheated" and they physically alter themselves to become the person that they want to be. Anytime we make changes, we do so because it's what makes us feel good, how we "think" we should appear. It's not a choice, it is who the person is.

Who they feel they want to be. The choice exists in how they act upon those wants. But they were born that way.

They could choose to remain who they were born, but then they would live life in misery. They make a choice to be happy and to live in the manner that they feel is best for them.

I think that it's real, but it's because I believe in reincarnation I think that in their past life they were maybe once a man and now they are a woman...I mean idk know for sure because you could disprove that with science and everything like the brains are male and female...But hey I believe that kinda stuff. THOUGH transgender is different then like saying your gay. I understand people who are gay and whatever....but I like to see the real ones..because everone these days are damn bisexual.

I mean it's a trend now. I have never seen so many bi's and gays and lesbians. Idk it depends on who I meet, but damn its like everyone I meet is bi.

I have one good girlfriend who I honestly believe is truly bi because she likes women and men...so I know not eveyone is like that but it seems like a lot just say they are... transgender who actually think they are a man or woman...I believe em. I don't think it's a medical thing...I think its a past life thing..

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
