Yes. However the cadmium in ni-cd batteries is bound into the negative plates and so is not accessible to service personnel. However spent batteries should be properly recycled rather than being disposed of in a landfill.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
