Absolutely - except for all the MECHANICS you need to know, before you can adequately express yourself. We get all kinds of people here, who want to be AWESOME - but cannot be bothered to learn how man y flats there are in Ab major, how to count compound meter, how to play piano with both hands - and whine about NOT wanting to take lessons form a qualified teacher - because that would STIFLE them. Yeah, right.
You cannot be expressive until you learn which end of the guitar to blow through, as the old joke goes. "Ojectively bad" might be a term that people are throwing around, and do not know what THEY are talking about - but in reality, it means that the performer under discussion has flaws in their fundamental mechanics - out of tune, cannot count, does not know the right harmony, etc. We ALL know great artists who have had memory slips, played some wrong notes, etc. - but we forgive that in the wider scope of their artistry - which is subjective. When poor playing is chronic - time to move on.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
