The analogy I like is the horse race analogy. Imagine a horse race where the gates open and 17 horses charge out, but one stumbles around and falls down. He gets up again, stumbles again, falls again, then finally he starts running and enters the race.
Would you expect that horse to win? Jeb was just not properly prepared to run for president. I don't think he anticipated the competition he would face in his own party.
And that's not too bad, I think, because for a long time the GOP nominee for president has been chosen by party leaders well in advance of the primaries, and Bush was The Chosen One this time. But unbelievably, Bush was totally unprepared for the question about his brother's failure. He should have been expecting that to be in his first interview, but he was totally unready for it.
He answer it wrong, then said he hadn't understood it and answered it again, and that was wrong too! That really hurt him. And it should have!
Strangely, the ONLY Bush who speaks in complete sentences where the subject matches the object doesn't have a lot to say! He has inherited Romney's title as Mr. Dull. He's the ultimate establishment candidate in an election where the insurgents are getting all the media attention.
In the debates he looks like the whiny nerdy guy at school that everyone makes fun of. But you know what? I think he still has a major chance to get nominated!
The nominee is chosen by the establishment! And Jeb is still their favorite! No matter how loud the insurgents are, how skillful at attracting media attention, they are still a minority in the GOP!
And after the insurgents are gone, who does the GOP actually have? Rubio comes off as just too young and innocent. That leaves who?
Bush, Christie, maybe Kasich. Bush leads the establishment candidates!
Is he trying hard or did he want to bail from the beginning. He can't bail though because he's a Bush. That and Koch needs him around, just in case.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
