It is coming up to that time of year so it beggars the question! Is it better to give than receive?

Well, I am happier when I can give to others and make them happy, especially to children. When I see my family, friends or other people smiling because of what I've done or tried to do for them, I am so glad. So, yes, better give than receive (this doesn't include business :-)).

It's better to be able to give to those that need it.

That's such a subjective question. It depends on how selfish, or how selfless a person is.

I heard a quote once, it may have been from, it was about money and was on the lines, money is like manure, it is no good unless it is spread around to make things grow. I think that is quite sensible, buy lots of presents, it injects a burst of activity, movement and growth into the economic system. Hoarding money creates a shortage of supply and so becomes more expensive.

Yes! It's better to give than receive. At least in my opinion.

I know that although I enjoy receiving, I get much more excited about knowing I'm giving someone something that they will enjoy. Good question!

Personally, I think giving is receving! And by receiving I don't necessarily mean material things! There is no greater joy or feeling of accomplishment when you see the happiness your actions or donations (of any kind) produce!

If you are in a position to give comfortably without causing yourself problems then that's fine, but also if you are not in a position to give, receiving is fine and someone shouldn't feel guilty if they can't afford to return the jesture. Just my opinion of course.

If you have nothing then receiving would be better. It's hard for the poor to give.

Those that are blessed should try to share with those who are less fortunate. I'm a militant atheist but one of the better points I grant to both the Bible and the Qu'ran is that both admonish people to give to the poor and less fortunate.

There are a lot of greedy and wealthy people in the world and a lot of generous poor folk. Go figure.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
