Surgical-type masks can be found in most drug stores. The virus particles themselves are too small to be blocked by a face mask, but the saliva and mucus droplets which can contain the virus are blocked. The overall effectiveness of face masks in blocking transmission of the virus is unclear, but they certainly can't hurt.
