Jack O' Lanterns; to carve or not to carve?

I really don't like to carve pumpkins. It is kind of gross. I would rather draw a funny face or something on it.It also keeps the pumpkin fresh longer.

Rotting pumpkin certainly smells disgusting, so I am happy not carving a pumpkin so I can avoid that smell.

I agree. Pumpkin seeds are yummy and low on calories. For me, the best part about making a jack o lantern, carved or painted, is that I get to make art with my kids.

Believe it or not, Jeannieinabottle and homesteadbound, we still have the jack o lantern we painted from two years ago. It looks fresh as the day we made it. The inside of the gourd has dried out, but the outside looks good as new.

I really don't do too much of either any more, however, I think that painting creates a pumpkin that lasts longer. Cut pumpkins are more prone to rotting quicker since bateria enters into the cuts more quickly. But a painted pumpkin has the drawback of not being able to use a candle.

I love to carve pumpkins and I think the outcome is worth it. I do not however, like to scoop the guts out of the pumpkin. :) The best part about carving is that you can toast the pumpkin seeds for a snack.

As a father of 4, autumn is a fun time for us. We love to decorate for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Carving pumpkins with the whole family is a tradition in our house that I do not intend to break.

We have a great time doing it, and there’s always the reward of lots of baked pumpkin seeds to eat.

I love do pumpkins carving and light up. Yummy Of course bake pumpkin seeds.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
