Anthony Morris said this in order to sustain the lie that salvation depends on belonging to their organization, that you must become a loyal, faithful and obedient baptized Witness in order to survive Armageddon. They can't afford to wait till young Witnesses reach maturity (like Jesus) before being baptized. They need to nail those young people down NOW, spiritually speaking.
Witnesses are leaving the organization in droves and they are so desperate to keep the number of baptisms up they will accept anybody for baptism - even teenagers who are not yet old enough to qualify for a driving licence. In 2013 there were 277,344 baptisms. In 2014 that number had dropped to 275,581 baptisms.
Mind you, the number claiming to be of the "anointed" went up from 13,204 to 14,121. There is one glaring flaw in his analogy of driving a vehicle and being baptized - you might kill yourself or someone because you are too young and inexperienced to know how to drive a vehicle safely, but by joining this organization and dedicating your life to it and the men who run it, you are at risk of spending eternity in utter darkness (spiritually speaking). What a load of tosh this man spouts!
Morris is doing more to discredit the organization he represents than any other member of the Governing Body. Keep it up, Anthony! The higher you set yourself and the other six members of the Governing Body up on a pedestal, the harder you will all fall, spiritually speaking.
I don't think you understood the example he used.. sigh.. sheesh. Ok here is how you are suppose to understand it. Ok.
Just like when you will acquire a permit to drive you have to have knowledge to drive to acquire a permit, right? Same thing to get baptized you have to have knowledge in how to preach and be a good christian. Same thing you have to be responsible in driving and be a good driver.
Sooo to be a good christian you have to know how to be one and once you get your "drivers license" as in like getting baptized then you will be a good christian. Get it? Or you don't get it?
He wasn't saying if a teen doesn't get baptized then he can't get a drivers license. Sheesh he was just using an ilustration. Just like Jesus used ilustrations.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
