Three years ago, we went on a very nice escorted tour of Ireland through Globus We went on the one called Introduction to Ireland. It was about 900 each at the time - this didn't include airfare. Vacation OverviewDublin and the scenic best of the Irish Republic await you on this beautiful eight-day journey, a popular pick for travelers.

In Dublin, enjoy a visit to Oscar Wilde’s Trinity College as part of an orientation drive around this vibrant city. A scenic ride through horse-racing country leads you to the National Stud and then to Limerick. Next, savor the breathtaking views of the Cliffs of Moher and the Clare Coast, and enjoy Irish hospitality at Rathbaun Farm.

After taking a ferry across the Shannon, a panoramic drive takes you around the stunning Ring of Kerry. The world famous Waterford Crystal Factory, Ireland’s oldest handweaving mill at Avoca, Glendalough, and the scenic Wicklow Mountains conclude your Irish journey. This vacation is ideal for first-time visitors to Ireland with only a little time to spare.

I haven’t made it to Ireland but we have been to Scotland on a Trafalgar Tour and it was great. Trafalgar is also a top tour company for Ireland and I can assure you that they do an excellent job. The coach is extremely comfortable and clean and the drivers are not only excellent drivers but extremely friendly and helpful.

I still exchange email occasionally with our driver from five years ago as a matter of fact. The guides are supremely knowledgeable and are usually locals who know the history and culture as only a native would and they too are extremely friendly and helpful. I hope to someday visit the Auld Sod and I expect that when I do I will call on Trafalgar.

If you have a particular interest just let the guide know and he/she and the driver will make a special effort to see that you find the things that interest you and will especially give you good tips for the time that you have to explore on your own. Well, it wasn't in Ireland, but they do work there... I went on a four-day tour in Scotland with Haggis Tours, and it was awesome - we stayed in Carbisdale Castle, had live music, hung out in pubs, went to the Isle of Skye, everything, and they have a branch of the same company (radical travel) called ShamRocker Tours, that operates in Ireland. I definitely saw more than I would have otherwise, and learned a LOT about local history along the way. I highly recommend them.

However, their age range is fairly low - college age to mid-30s, and you do stay in hostels (although they offer the opportunity to stay in B&Bs or local hotels if you contact them regarding accommodations). This is their website: www.shamrockeradventures.com .

2 I forgot to say how it was :)It was great. We met a bunch of couples and had a ball. At the Waterford Factory we spent, well, way too much and then went out to dinner with a couple of the couples we met, one from Witchita and one from Hamburg Germany and just laughed and had a couple of drinks and relaxed a lot.

The tour guides we very knowledgable and very customer service oriented. They made the reservation for us and got us seats on a terrace overlooking the factory's entrance, which is very beautiful.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
