Looking for MP3 players options other than iPod. (see details) I want to give my mother, who is no place near being savvy with any kind of electronics, an mp3 player for her music and the ability to load/view photos of her grandchildren. I'm already familiar with iPod.

Are there other options? What are price ranges? User friendly?

Recommendations? Experiences? Her only uses would be music and photos.

Palm zire The Palm Zire is an older PDA that has MP3 capacity and also shows pictures. The Z72 takes digital pictures and video so I'm guessing it can show video as well. The Z72 only takes still digital pictures.

You can't get it from Palm anymore but you can find it elsewhere, like Amazon. To load pictures and music, you put the pictures and music in a special directory and then synch the PDA using the cable which comes with it. Very easy to do.
