MISSION: How many of the top Yahoo Answers people can you get to defect to Mahalo Answers?

The first day of Mahalo Answers I saw articles about it over on Google News (the idea of tips caught my attention, and I checked it out. Needless to stay, I'm still here! I had used Yahoo Answers quite extensively, but before reading about Mahalo I hadn't for a long time because I didn't like how my accounts kept getting deleted and how ultimately I was just getting "points" that weren't worth anything.

The best way to get people to find out about Mahalo Answers is to simply go to Yahoo Answers and ask innocent questions like "POLL: Which is better: Mahalo Answers or Yahoo Answers. " It will tell everyone about Mahalo (I'm sure most haven't heard). The top users read tons of questions and I'm sure they will run across them and at the sight of money change!

Wow JC...creating an army to convert the universe...next thing, you'll have a funny mask looking ship...

I call dibs on the dame...
.

Spread the word by making referring post on Y! A which lead to answers on Mahalo. Keep the site clean and fast and I think that nature will take its course.

I actually found about Mahalo Answers when I was at Wikipedia and reading articles related to Google Answers, Wiki Answers and Yahoo Answers and there at end, Wikipedia had section named "See Also". And, under, "See Also" Section was Mahalo Answers. I liked this community and I think I can easily let SO MANY PEOPLE come and being part of this community.

Just that in Pakistan, so many people are not feeling good that Mahalo only pays through Paypal and Paypal han't established any network in Pakistan and many other countries. I think I can easily let many users from WikiAnswers and Yahoo Answers be part of Mahalo and I'll be going for that soon. I am now going to post question regarding that how do those members get their pay, If they don't have Paypal there so that I can convince them to be part of Mahalo with their interest protected.

Here is an idea... Instead of trying to sabotage another website why not just use a traditional media campaign. Buy national ad time on direct tv or dish network, put adds in major papers. Or, I guess you could encourage people to do more shady practices to get people to come here.

Which is really just going to make the whole site look bad. Mahalo should be able to stand alone without having to resort to trying to create mass defections from other places.

I found via Twitter when someone called @mahalo suddenly answered my question. It was great, found out this, and now joined it. :).

I propose, a "question/answer marathon" where the winner of the contest wins a "Trip to NYC": flight, "Broadway show", dinner, hotel, limosine, "Meet the Mayor", and seat on the "David Letterman" show. The contest incentive must cover (money, social acceptance, and political importance).

I was never a big Yahoo Answers user, at least did not ask as many questions because they punished you by deducting points. Never liked the feeling about using another Yahoo service, because I was a fan of Google Answers previously. I found out about Mahalo Answers through reading the Wired blog on December 15, 2008 and thought I'd give it a try.

Ever since, I've been hooked. Since I've been on Mahalo Answers, I've already recruited Yahoo Answers members over here. I go to Yahoo Answers and ask the question, "Has anyone tried Mahalo Answers" and they come over.

Look at this question: http://tinyurl.com/cewweq.

I didn't defect from Yahoo, but I got roped in here from a work at home job list. I don't remember where I found it, I've looked at so many. One idea to encourage people to jump ship from all other similar websites would be a referral system, each member gets a referral link and... well, I don't like the sound of giving people points per referral.

Then we'd have people working their way up through the belts based on referrals, not knowledge. I'd say there would have to be some other benefit, though I'm not quite sure what. The reason I thought of a referral system is that we'd have a way to get in the door to work at home forums and groups.

For stuff like that, usually you have to be an active member before you advertise a site, otherwise they consider you spam and kick you off. But at least, you could hop around to the different websites out there for legit work at home jobs and suggest that Mahalo be added if it's not on there already. I'll also say that besides just advertising the great place to ask questions/receive answers and make some spare change, you should definitely throw in the community as one of the selling points.

I didn't expect to get to know people and make friends here. I thought it would be like the other sites I tried/applied to, human powered search engine, people ask we answer the end. This is so much cooler...

Personally, I saw a couple articles about how Mahalo Answers was better than Yahoo, and I decided to check it out. (Also, I changed because most of the answers/advice I had gotten on most of questions I asked on Y! A were ridiculous or bad.) Suggestion: We could post questions on Y!

A such as: "Why is Mahalo answers far superior to Y! A?" =) Really though, I never felt a sense of community in Yahoo! Answers and didn't really connect with that many members, so I don't really have any good suggestions on how to convert them.

Except, try to convert a couple of top users, and have them tell their other top user friends?

In my opinion, bringing over too many of those "top contributors" will result in.

Mission possible. From the older posts I read on Y! A alot of people are getting tired of it.

I have made my post and invited a few others to make the switch!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
