MongoDB running but can't connect using shell?

I think there is some default config what is missing in this version of mongoDb client. Try to run.

I had a similar problem, well actually the same (mongo process is running but can't connect to it). What I did was went to my database path and removed mongod. Lock, and then gave it another try (restarted mongo).

After that it worked.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
