MouseListener and JTree?

Your listener tries to get the node at the mouse location. If there isn't any node, null is returned by tree. GetPathForLocation() .

Just test if selPath is null before calling a method on it.

Use a TreeSelectionListener instead. The TreeSelectionEvent has some very handy methods for discovering which nodes were/are selected.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
