Lee's and Australia's sportsmanship is not in question. Lee did not intentionally stand in front of Tendulkar. Also no top line batsman gives up like Tendlkar did and he really made little effort to make his ground.
The camera angle of the run out was flattering to Tendulkar's cause but umpires should of went upstairs anyway. I still think Tendulkar would have been given. The Hussey incident while controversial was one that could of went either way.
I can see both sides to both incidents but that is cricket.
To answer your question, yes, different umpires will interpret different ways. Both decisions could have been different had other umpires been there to make the call. Dare I say it, a different captain may also have called Tendulka back.
As you say though, the result stands as is and nothing is going to change that. If anything, yesterday's events build an even more compelling case for the use of the DRS. The BCCI elected at the start of this series not to adopt its use.
It's a bit much to now complain about non-referral when they could have had referral as a right had they chosen to do so. EDIT: I disagree. My comment relates to Sachin's dismissal, which attracted considerable comment for not being referred.
Had the option of referral been available, Dhoni would have had the opportunity to ask for a considered opinion using video evidence, and more importantly a considered interpretation of the rules by an umpire with access to the letter of the law, and the luxury of time to form a view, neither of which is available to the on field umpires. As I said, criticism of an on field decision who's veracity could have been supported / dispelled by DRS is unfair if the aggrieved team elects not to use that avenue of review.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
