My daughter is having a sleepover for Halloween - what are some GOOD scary movies I can rent for the girls?

I'm looking for movies that are scary, but not just blood and gore. What would you suggest? Asked by Rickisgirl 38 months ago Similar questions: daughter sleepover Halloween scary movies rent girls Society > Holidays.

Check these movies out - My top picks would be Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis and The Silence of the Lambs with Anthony Hopkins. Se7en with Brad Pitt is extremely scary and actually might be a bit too much. Nightmare on Elm Street is a Freddy Krueger classic and of course Alfred tchcock’s Psycho with Anthony Perkins is a classic scary movie as well.

The Omen and The Changeling are good scary movies without excessive gore. Other movies to consider would be The Exorcist, Rosemary’s Baby, Carrie and The Shining. Halloween (1978) The Silence of the Lambs (1991) Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) Se7en (1995) Psycho (1960) The Shining (1980) The Omen (1976) The Changeling (1980) Carrie (1976) Rosemay’s Baby (1968) The Exorcist (1973) If you want something unusal and not scary check out The Rocky Horror Picture Show.It is definitately unique and campy.

Hope these suggestions help! ~Lyn~'s Recommendations Halloween Amazon List Price: $14.98 Used from: $7.15 Average Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5 (based on 905 reviews) The Silence of the Lambs (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) Amazon List Price: $19.98 Used from: $6.95 Average Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5 (based on 461 reviews) .

A couple ideas Scream (if they haven't already seen it) The Amityville Horror (the new one with Ryan Reynolds) Silence of the Lambs Thirteen Ghosts The House on Haunted ll (scared the pooo outta me! ) The Ring The Exorcist (of course) The Decent (pretty gory though) The Shining (an old favorite) Carrie The Mist (Stephen King's) Number 23 (weird and creepy) Blair Witch Project Pet Cemetary (little kid creeps me out) Final Destination (main characters are high school seniors) Ok, hope that gives you some ideas! Sources: Love ALL movies!.

Witchery, humour, some romance Since these are young ladies, not kids, I’d suggest: "Bell, Book and Candle" with Kim Novak. They are supposed to be witches but it’s more of good humour than being scary and Kim handles that cat very neatly. There’s "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" for some zany witchery and adventure with Angela Lansbury.

If you want to go back further, with spookiness and romance, there is: "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" with Rex Harrison and Gene Tierney. "Rebecca" with Joan Fontaine and Laurence Olivier, the ghost of the first wife seems to haunt them. "Portrait of Jennie" with Jennifer Jones and Joseph Cotten - eerie and very ’other worldly’!

And there’s always Sherlock Holmes movies, of days gone by and "Arsenic and Old Lace. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
