Take something like a wooden spoon and put it down the whole, try and turn the blades. My guess is that something is blocking (or was)Second, get on the floor and look at the bottom of the disposer. THere is a place to insert an allen wrench to manually move the assembly.

Get an allen wrench that fits and insert it. Turn a couple times around. That will loosen it.Voila.

If the motor is indeed running (free spinning) then the blades must be disconnected somehow. If there was something stopping it from turning, it most likely has a circuit breaker that would trip and you would not hear any motor noise.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
