My mother has shingles. How can I help her get throught the pain? It is really getting her down?

I am sorry to hear about your mother. Shingles is really a bummer, I actually had it a few months ago! If your mom hasn't been to the doctor yet, she definitely should go.

They will give her antivirals that can help her get over the pain faster and prevent her from developing further complications. As far as the pain goes, she can really use any kind of topical anti-itch or anti-burn cream. When in doubt just make sure she asks her doctor.
