My Shih Tzu stares and looks at me all the time...I give him everything...follows me everywhere, he will sit quietly and stare , Help Me?

First here's a link for a bit more information about your particular dog the Shih-Tzu an ancient Chinese companion breed: canismajor.com/dog/shihtzu.html. Learn as much as you can about breed typical behavior and this will help you start to understand your own dog. It is also important to know that in the doggy world eye contact (with another dog) can be a sign of 'dominance'.

I'd suggest that you give him a firm request (command) that tells him to stop it. He's really bothering you and he needs to take his intensity down a few notches, it's not helping your relationship as dog owner and pet to keep it as it is. Your dog is young and will learn that this behavior (eye contact - essentially begging for your attention) is not acceptable.

Also (as a new dog owner) remember to give your dog opportunity to exercise (walks) and socialize with other dogs and other people every day. You will have a happier pet and you will find he isn't looking to you for so much stimulation if you get out and about every day for play, exercise, sights and smells that dogs need. Try enrolling in an obedience class if you wish.

Good luck, and have fun.

It sounds as if he just wants what every dog wants, atention... All dogs do this to an extent, you are his master and he looks to you for everything.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
