Not that I have seen. There are only VCR tape players that will record but not like they used too, say from a camera or another VCR or from one selected channel. If you want to record like in the old days, you need a DVR.

I have not seen a VCR with a built in tuner in ages. However, if you can find a newer one, the tuner should be digital ready and not require the converter box. (new TVs also do not need the converter box) .
