To be able to see in the dark. Cops go into dark places as part of any investigation no matter what time of day. As far as weapon goes my huge US department does not allow large metal flashlights.

Ours are small and have plastic bodies and are hard to use as a defensive weapon and virtually impossible to use as an offensive weapon.

Police often need to go into dark places - alleyways, basements, buildings without electricity. I would carry a torch (or flashlight in the U.S.), wouldn't you?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
