Most of the arms for the Taliban come from the former Afghan warlords of the Northern Alliance who have vast quantities of weapons, ironically, provided to them by the CIA in the 80's. The other main supplier is Iran. Weapons for the Taliban are smuggled across all borders.

Even some in the Afghan government have been suspected of secretly supporting the Taliban. The Taliban will never be in danger of running out of weapons.
