On Memorial Day, has anyone on Askville lost a loved one serving in the armed services? Let us all honor them today?

1 For security reasons, I am not going to mention my grandmother's uncle Charles last name. Uncle Chuck was killed in WWII. Please remember her Uncle Chuck today.

She has fond memories of her father talking about their good times and how they served in the US Army together. Let's take time out to thank the military heroes who served proudly and gave their lives for our country to be free. PmStern, I am sorry to hear about your brother.

C.K. Said: 2 PM, I'm sorry about your brother. My husband lost a great uncle (Shorty) in WWII..

3 CK, I am sorry about your hubbys great Uncle Shorty.

C.K. Replied to post #3: 4 I sorry about your Uncle Chuck too! I am very fortunate, I've had a LOT of family serve (Dad, Uncles, Grandfather, Great Uncles, etc..) but didn't lose any of them! Had a few of 'em wounded, but didn't lose 'em!

I'm soo thankful for that! I truly think upon the Fallen, the Vets, and the current Military...ALL as heroes!

I couldn’t imagine being denied the feeling of both loving and being loved. Even the pain of losing some of those loves has made me better, stronger and wiser. Though all of that was pinful,I’d still rather know what love is.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
