Nesse sentido, quem se acha sábio, mas não tem humildade, faz parte dos falsos sábios da antiguidade, os sofistas, que eram arrogantes, pois pensavam que ter conhecimento intelectual era sinônimo de sabedoria. Como afirma Ivan Teorilang: Humildade é sinônimo de sabedoria, que é sinônimo de conhecimento, que é sinônimo de generosidade, que é sinônimo de maturidade que por sua vez é sinônimo de humildade.
