Pre-walkers - Shoes or No Shoes? I have a 9 months old baby who is nearly walking. I get?

Leave the shoes off for as lond as possible. A baby's feet don't need shoes to learn to walk. That is an absurd idea put into people's heads by shoe manufacturers who are out to make more profits.

I have recently researched this, maybe I should write a hub! Studies show that babies strengthen their feet and toes by walking barefoot in the early months for as long as possible. When shoes are necessary, the soft, breathable, flat shoes are best as they mimic walking barefoot.

I have touched on it a little in a hub about children and toxins. Some shoes are made with harmful chemicals and babies lying on their back may put them in their mouth, which is not good! Pedoodles are a recommended brand.

You could get "soft shoes". Typically a child is off balance to begin with, so hard shoes make it more difficult to learn how to balance. Things like thin slippers or socks will teach them to have something on their feet while still encouraging them to learn to support themselves before teaching them about hard shoes.

I'd wait until they have walked for at least a month before purchasing hard shoes.

I wrote a hub about my grandson learning to walk and what we felt was best for him. We really like the Robeez shoes which mold with babies feet. He walks so much better with his Robeez than with hard soled shoes.

The difference is amazing. I think the soft soles help him keep his balance ALOT better and he walks in them like he's barefoot. Just my 2 cents!

I would let the child walk barefoot whenever possible. Only when it is really dangerous to walk without shoes (on a dirty street for example) put shoes on. I think walking barefoot is the best and healtiest and most natural you can do to your child's feet.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
