Question for Hindus only - Hindu Temples - Why non-hindus are not permitted to enter in some hindu temples?

Thiruthangal (100th out of 108 Sacred Vishnu Temples): (i) Temple Location: This temple is situated in Tamil Nadu and can be reached when travelling through Sri Villiputoor, Virudhunagar. Thiruthankaal railway station, which is found in Virudhunagar -Thenkasi railway lane, and after getting from the station, we can reach the temple. Lodging facility is also available.

Thiruthangal is 24 Kms from Virudhunagar, 4 from Sathur. Devotees visiting Thiruthangal may find convenient lodgings in the nearby Sivakasi Town. Conveyance facilities are available from Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar.

Nearest railway stations are Sivakasi and Virudhunagar and the airport Madurai. (ii) Sthlapuranam: As per purana, once there was a discussion among Sridevi, Bhoodevi and Neeladevi as to know who is best among them. Finally Sridevi left the place and reached this holy place Thiruthangal and meditated Narayana manthram.

Vishnu was pleased with her and fulfilled her wishes. Since Sridevi stayed here this place was known as Thiruthangal. Later on Bhoodevi and Neeladevi also joined Narayanaperumal in this place.

Garuda is with four hands here which unique. He has Amirtha kalasm to one hand and sarpam in another hand. The other two hands are joined together bowing to lord As per purana Anirudha and usha got married in this place.

(iii) Special Features: The one more feature of this sthalam is the Garudan. Garudalwar is found along with the snake in his left hand and Amudha Kalasam in his hand and giving his seva and other two hands are folded and he found along with 4 hands. Another speciality is the Thaayar is found in standing posture facing her thirumugam along East direction.

In all the sthalams, the thaayar is found only in sitting position, but only in this sthalam, she is found in standing position, which is said to be one of the speicality of this temple. (iv) Archavatara Murtis.

It is a news to me. I am Hindu and proud to be Hindu but do not follow any rituals, then no question of going to any temples, not even Rameshwaram, Puri, Dwarka, Badri Nath, Kailash than wahat to talk of this.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
