Rocketeer Question-NEED ASKVILLE Advice-what do you do when someone answers your questions repeatedly with answers that?

Instead of full answers- these answers are no more than a comment- a line at best---if the answer was a baked bean---you know what it would be! In my view these are only answers to question geared to getting either more and more gold or Best answers - more than 44 I guess! And to continue his BLACK REIGN as the most best answers--I'm here for fun not the gold nor the accolade as top best answer getter!

But to take up an answer spot with a "one Liner" is not really cool-- so cool it MAN! So What do you suggest? // and I am praying for him too--Amen!

Vote 3***, for breathing That aside...I vote pretty generously for my answerers....good, well thought out answers all get 4****, then when all answers are in, I go back and pick the one I thought was the very best and give a 5***** vote. Now, the one liners, the snarks...and the answers full of psychobabble, the bible thumpers...even the 'copy & pasters' will get 3 stars, just because they're breathing....and they can take that little gold coin to the bank. Rarely, very rarely will I ever vote less than 3 stars.

Often, and old question is pulled out of limbo...and the answer has absolutely nothing to do with the question...not even remotely close...2** Or the downright nasty answer...the 'zero tollerance' zappers...2 stars. I figure, maybe if they see that they lose a point for being idiots, just maybe they'll straighten out and play fair... Just vote from the heart...if someone is irritating you that much with their 'one liners'...just give them 1* and let them lose points. What else can we do?

Nothing you can do Rocketeer... There is not much you can do Rocketeer, when you ask a question anyone can answer it. I know exactly what you are talking about and if that person does not have a conscious and gives a one line answer just to get gold, what the heck can you do. This person must believe someday he is going to cash in all the worthless gold and take a trip around the world.

You ask fun questions so don't let this get to you. Nothing you say can change it unless he reads this and understands you mean him. Don't count on it!

What I do is what the site rules say one should do: Answer the question. If one is smart enough to distill the answer into fewer words, then one is smart. If the question is asked that is more complicated than the asker intends, the answer is more words.So be it.

The task at hand is answering the question, and the site guidelines say that the answer goes in the answer box, the comments go in the comment box. Sometimes, I have a comment, but since my opinion isn't that valuable, I largely limit my own self to answers in the answer box. I'm glad to read that you're praying for someone.

I don't begrudge others going for the gold, I just have more fun on the DB, where I might run into some of my friends.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
