The life expectancy of a surgeon is around 58 years old. Also check out the incidence of stress related diseases among medics. I would rather have my GP and Medics got paid a £100K a year than some slimy banker, stockbroker or currency speculator be paid annual bonuses of so many millions of pounds per annum.
To say nothing of the Head of the IMF having a tax free income, liberal expenses and a guaranteed rise every year. As for poorly paid nurses being paid more - sure. But not at the expense of other health workers.
Tax the rich more. Enforce the laws on tax evasion. Stop the loopholes that allow people like Osborne to say that setting up a trust fund to pay less tax is nothing illegal.
Tighten up the regulation of the banks and off shore banking in particular - that should hit Cameron directly where he lives! I've worked with medics and surgeons. The stress they work under can be enormous.
Some are complete arrogant b'stards but they are highly skilled b'stards for the most part and save lifes. All public sector workers' pensions should be left as they are. If private sector workers don't like the pension provision they have they should organise themselves and demand better pensions.
Austerity is a sham. Why should the workers, public or private, pay for the fact that we have incompetent managers and even more incompetent politicians who blame everyone but themselves? Yes we are all in this together - against the Coalition Government if our economy is to be revived and our quality of life improved.
No, they are privileged and highly paid enough!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
