Should The "Homosexual Struggle For Equality" Be Compared To The "Black Struggle For Equality"?

No. Homosexuals are not being enslaved and forced to work and live in horrible places. What happened to blacks was horrible and inhuman.

What happens to gays is in no comparison.

No! I don't think so. This comparison is the equivalent to a atom bomb and a holiday fireworks.

Absolutely not! As a black person I take offense to that comparison.

I think the two are far too different to be compared. The Black Struggle of Equality stems from slavery and a sick culture's belief that a difference in skin color indicated a difference in a person(life) value. The struggle that homosexuals have faced is not such a struggle...but more of a suffering through modern social stigma.

Was not always the case...i.e. Romans, Greeks and most other ancient societies fully accepted homosexuality and even embraced it.

I don't know if this makes any sense but...I sort of think the black struggle was for equality, whereas the gay struggle is more for acceptance. I think being casually homophobic or to throw another one into the mix.. misogynistic is generally more accepted than being casually racist, at least that's what I've seen.

Everything is a struggle. To every yes there is a no,and to every no there is a yes. We choose the road we walk down.

Life is how you make it. It is subject to our decisions.

Guanta says as a black she takes offence to comparing the black struggle for equality to the gay struggle for equality. What about a gay black's struggle for equality?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
