To use bindings you have to expose properties- while my VB.NET isn't great it looks like Items is a field not a property in your myItem class, and the same for myString.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
