So my coworker uses her 7 year old son as an excuse to get out of working late or coming in early?!?

Age Nighttime sleep Daytime sleep 2 years 10 to 12 hours 1 to 3 hours (1 nap) 3 years 9 to 12 hours 1 to 3 hours (1 nap) 4 years 9 to 12 hours 0 to 2.5 hours (1 or no nap) 5 years 8 to 11 hours 0 to 2.5 hours (1 or no nap) I would say, if you want a unified routine, 9 for both of them, but if the 4 year old resists very much then 10 o clock for that child, so it's basically very little change... It does seem that 8 hours is too little for a 4 year old, i'd want at least ten hours of sleep for my kid at that age, but if your child is happy and healthy, you will do more damage trying to impose some 8 o clock bedtime than letting them sleep 8/9 hours happy. Some two year olds might like 12 hours of sleep, some can do just as well on ten. Do not listen to lazy a.r.s.

E parents who would wan their kids to sleep 17 hours so they can have more time away from them. Kids are people and if they are doing well, are healthy and have no problems getting up, if they like 9 hours instead of 12, that should be OK with you... If your kids needed more they would start going to bed on their own earlier if you get them up at 7 every morning... Look, lady, bottom line is, you can force your kids to bed at 6/ 7 pm, they will cry, resist, you will be stressed out, they will be stressed out... This will go on for days and they will give in, they are tiny and you have all the power, but they will still sleep their ten or 9/8 hours and get up at 6 or 5 and wake you up... Will you then again be stressed out and stress them out? This means you will force your kids to bed all stressed out and then greet them in the morning the same way, and all coz you want to impose some artificial idea of bedtime... Do yourself a favour and be a good mum, respect your kids sleep needs and do not bully them around... Do not stress yourself out, and, especially do not do that to their tiny brains who cannot handle constant raised cortisol levels.

This WILL permamnently damage them psychologically.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
