They are not people, but they become part of the family and should be treated with kindness and respect. For the record Cats Rule...Dogs Drool! .

HA HA HA I'm tellin' my dog you said that! Thanks! SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

Give your drooling dog a big hug from me and tell him no hard feelings. I love all animals equally. I have volunteered at a few shelters and the SPCA and it is horrifying the way some people treat animals.

He said, "Woof" which means," It's cool lady, but, don't let me catch you wearing a meat dress! " SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

Most pets become part of our families and as a member of the family they should be treated with kindness and respect.

I don’t understand your point. Are you a person or a cat or a dog? Isn't there a difference.

“Are they people too”? What do you think? Do they walk on two legs?

Do they go to school? Work for a living? What do you mean are they people too?

Pet lovers "claim" their pets, are their "children", and it was JUST a question, to invoke, people to thought, and conversation (for fun). Thanks! BTW......... person here!

...and my dogs can walk on 2 legs, has been to "obedience" school, and his job is to be my pet,so he "works" for a living. So ,yes to all of your questions......your turn! SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

Back to your original question are cats and dogs people. No. It was not a thought provoking question at all it was silly and juvenile.

And trying to defend it makes you seem.....

AGAIN, JUST A QUESTION,GEE WHIZ! SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

I answered your question. Just because it wasn't what you wanted to hear. Sorry.

I love all my pets but there is a difference between animals and people.

I don't mind if you answer the question, and don't even mind, if we disagree, and I am GLAD you love your pets,(so do I) just please, don't judge ME. That is all. Thanks!

You should have taken my first answer with a grain of salt but you tried to push the issue and got backed in a corner. Next time just accept someone’s honest answer because I did answer your question by by passing the obvious.Chow.

Yeah,OK I'll think about it . Thanks! SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

Yes, of course they are. We should treat them as though they are.

That's right! You gotta take the bad with the good. Mine are spoiled rotten, lol.

Good 4 U Thanks! SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

I think the asker knows that they really are not people, but he or she is asking if we treat our pets as people. He or she did not mean for us to take this seriously, but rather have fun with the question.

Grandma! I had a dog, a shihtzu, named Samantha. I miss her dearly.

EXACTLY,THANK YOU, MD SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

No problem. I tell you what, when I see a stray, I cry. I hate it!

I took in 4 cats over the last 8 years and I cannot take in anymore. I still would feed them but it still bothers me to see them stray. Oh and the commercials about animal abuse, ugh, I bawl.

Also, the movie Eight Below, have you seen it? .

Trekincat said it well. Animals are faithful. They do not lie, cheat, steal or do you wrong in any way.

Except when they chew your shoes up, but even that is forgiven. I LOVE my dog SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

I am a cat person, I think most people here know that, BUT I thank the Goddess that cats aren't people, because people SUCK! Cats don't lie, or cheat, they are honest with their feeling and give love with no strings attached. I'll take my cats over people any day.My 3 are my family, my friends my everything.

BTW that's Bobette in my avatar, she was a feral cat deemed un-adoptable, I got her on a trial basis, and she's been with me for 3 years and has turned into a magnificent member of the family. IMO calling a cat or dog "people" is a major insult to them.

HA HA HA,Obviously you are a "cat people" ......and that is NOT a bad thing Thanks! SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

Yes they sure are. They love more and are more loyal than some humans. My cat Samantha that passed away 15 yrs ago and my loyal Cocker Spaniel "Spencer" who is laying next to me right now.

He loves me unconditionally. How many humans can you say that about. Yes they are people too.

Hugs .

AWWWWWWWWWWWWW,that's a nice answer! Thanks! SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

Human beings are FULL of lies and that's merely one of many. Cats are cats, wild animals that are useful when culling the vermin out of our storehouses of grain. Dogs are dogs, not humans.

What's really going on with that claim is that folks who keep cats or dogs (or both) as pets want to pretend to have some relationship with wild animals so they pick the two easiest and imagine they've undone the damage started when Adam and Eve were kicked out of Eden. Nope. Not until the kingdom. In the meantime, animals can be trained, but only with very much hard work (and caution with those claws.

) .

Thanks! For your "unvarnished" opinion. SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

Well they can't do everything people can do but should be treated with probably MORE respect than most people deserve.

WOW, real animal lover, that's nice. Thanks! SirTruth-a-lot 4 months ago .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
