Son saved cat last yr. 6 mos, searched for owners. now been 1 and 1/2 yrs cat is w/ us. Owners show up. My cat or theirs?

Since you tried so hard to find the owners and could not, it seems only fair to me that something be worked out so you can keep the cat, especially because of your children being involved. If the cat was expensive, maybe they will settle for some financial compensation. The kitty might well have died if you hadn't taken him in.

You have invested time, money, love. Also, if you want to play "hardball", you could refuse to give up the cat and make them take you to court. Which might mean they would drop it.

Before I did that, I'd want to find out what expenses I would incur in having them sue me. I imagine they would allow you to pay something for the cat rather than taking you to court. I know they are undoubtedly attached to the cat themselves, but hopefully will realize that you saved kitty and that your kids (and you and hubby) have gotten very attached to him.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
