Stephen Hawking has proclaimed God did not create the universe, so, does that mean there is no God?

Stephen Hawking is a brilliant scientist, but not omniscient. Just because one man says something does not make it true, no matter the man (or woman). I have done a few dozen experiments with creation and learn more each time.

One logical conclusion from creating what could be termed "miracles" is that I am not inherently a physical being, but non-physical and a source of creation (perhaps a child of God? ). Only a non-physical being could bend or break the laws of physical reality -- only a creator.

One event, forty years ago, reinforced the idea that I am not inherently physical. For several moments, I found myself 5 meters outside the building where my body remained sitting, and I could see as clearly as I could with physical eyes. (Now, I can't see so clearly even with physical eyes -- a product of age).

Could God have been the combined creativity of all of us "children? " I'm still exploring that possibility. I suspect that there is a God, but that he/she/it is not at all like what most people think.

The true self within Stephen Hawking will likely be quite surprised when his frail body shuffles off this mortal coil. No doubt I will, too.

Did the chicken come first or was it the egg. The universe is constantly changing with stars being born and dying all the time. With what we understand of the way things work, matter - the stars, planets and everything else in the universe - cannot just be created from nothing, just as it cannot be destroyed, only changed.

So where did it come from initially all those thousands of millions of billions of years ago? Something has to have created the first atoms that went to form the first star, even though that first star has long since gone, replaced by what we now see.It's possible that Steven Hawking meant that God did not create the sun and the earth the way it's written in the Bible because we now know that Sol - our sun is relatively young compared to a lot of other stars out there in the universe. Perhaps what we ought to be asking is how the universe was created in the first place.

Now that is going to bake a lot of noodles.

With all the genius stuffed inside his head, Stephen Hawking just can't let a mystery remain unsolved. I don't mean that God is a mystery, I just mean that man is not meant to understand EVERYTHING. To be able to understand God completely would mean that he could fit inside a box, in this case Stephen Hawking's brain.

Faith is believing in the unseen. Hawking has faith in his theories, but I'm sure that he also wants to keep his books in the headlines. Just to be honest, this is kind of like the chicken and the egg.So Hawking says that God did not create the universe, gravity did.

Someone else might say, OK, then God created gravity, or God is Gravity, or whatever. Semantics...

God did in fact create it all, some people just have this urge to solve things that don't need to be solved.

I believe science and religious views explains the same thing i. E gives the same conclusion but the procedure to reach that conclusion is totally different from each other and do not support each other even at a single point. These are the things which human being are never going to understand and explain correctly.

If we think scientifically then we will say that god didn't created the universe and if we think from the religious point of view then we will say that god created the universe.

Stephen Hawking is a scientist who is attempting to come up with a set of mathmatical equations to prove how the Universe began and how today it is the shape that it is and why it continues to expand. In his concluding remarks he merely pointed out that to prove his theories there is no God element necessary in any of his equations. He did not say there is no God!

However it's a fair and logical assumption that to arrive at the theory if God is not necessary for creation of Life or the Universe then there probably never was a God in the first place other than the one invented by man.

In the book, Hawking uses the concept of gravity and its eventual cause of the big bang rather than God poking nothing with his finger and causing it to explode. Unfortunately, this will be taken out of context many times by people saying "hawking proved there is no god. Take that Religion!" and not understanding that he is explaining the nature of the universe and the forces that inhabit it caused the big bang.

"Hawkings equations cannot describe what caused creation to begin. So God does not enter into his equations.It can't.

Hawkings did not say there is no God. But..even if he did..it's really a question for each one of us..you included..to answer for yourself. Hawkings will not stand before God for you.

Will he? God IS necessary to explain how creation began. Before creation there was nothing here.

Then, in a fireball of light...it began..creation expanded, space expanded...the universe began as a tiny point...and has now become an infinite space. There is much about the universe we do not know. I think there is room for God in all this.

God has given the Bible so that we will hear what He has to say about many things. Most of these are about who He is and how we should live. Although the Bible touches on many things which science does..it's not a science book.

We don't look for answers to medical questions in geography books. And scientists like Stephen Hawking are not experts in religious issues.So why look for religious advice from him? I'm sure he's a fine man.

But religion is not his field of study.

What he has to say is irrelevant. It's what each person knows that matters. I don't need some guy to tell me if there is a god or how the universe was created.

Common sense says that god is a myth and it's that simple.

Well, my mom would say God created stephen hawking and gave him the power (intelligence) to come up with all this. On a personal note, I do not ascribe to God having a grand design. I think He is as much a part of the random as we are, but yes, there is a higher energy, a universal source of light.

I explicitly asked my Pastor today during service about this immoral fellow Hawking. He told me and our faithful congregation the following:"Hawking is only man. But God is not man.

God is great. If man cannot understand himself, how is he expected to understand God? Besides, if we understood God, then God wouldn't be so great."But then I told my Pastor that we DO understand God, because s TRUTHS are in the Bible, the Old & New Testaments.

That simply means that Stephen Hawking loves to run his mouth not caring what he says. What proof does he offer? Are there historic text books, historic facts that back up his hypothesis on this?

Whether or not Hawking proclaimed it -- there is no God. Religions are for idiots, no matter how slick their vocalizations and tool-making and using abilities.

It depends upon the Hawking's Idea of God . If he thinks God is a person he might be right to think that there is no God which governs us.

There is a very simple reason why the argument of this book fails. Hawking does not address the pure logic of how something can emerge from the property of nothing. Something emerging from nothing is a logically contradictory idea.It CANNOT be true, because it is logically impossible for nothing to produce something.

The two properties are opposites, and are therefore logically incompatible and irreconcilable. If you examine the concept of something emerging from nothing as a pure concept, completely separate from anything else, it is clear that nothingness CANNOT produce something, in and of itself. Using only the concepts of "something" and "nothing," this idea is completely unworkable.

In order to explain how something can be produced by nothing, you will have to tackle the logical impossibility of something emerging from nothing. There is no rational progress that can be made in this area, to my knowledge. Hawking claims that the property of gravity causes matter to just appear out of nothing.

When certain conditions are met, matter just appears. And that's as far as he gets into the subject. He doesn't explain HOW matter is produced from nothing.

He simply claims that this is what happens under certain conditions, and that's it. This is very, very different from explaining the actual logic of how something can come from nothing at all. And therefore when Hawking claims that the Universe needed no creator, he has no grounds whatsoever to make this claim.

Logically, something can only come from something else. And so it follows rationally that the Universe HAD to have come from something else, some other cause: a creator, a God, or SOME thing. ANYTHING would satisfy the equation better than nothing.

Hawking is going beyond the bounds of what he can legitimately say as a scientist. As far as science can determine, the universe came into existence from nothing. Hawking has no grounds for going beyond this understanding into the realm of metaphysics.

He is not explaining anything here at all. He is simply stating his opinion.

First and foremost thing with out hurting any body let us all understand Stephen hawking is not GOD to believe all the things he or any one say. He is good imaginator, analytical guy who is using his skills to provide some answer? Let me ask you a simple question OK?

God did not create all this how can some thing form of his own? Ok even if all big-bang theory is the solutions how all the masses came for big bang before and where was the starting? Ok let us assume there was some starting.! but before that how even the so called GOD is created?

Who created it.?if there is any creator for that god also how come that creator has come forward? Is int it amazing.. the truth is there is no answer to these questions and Stephen is good guy but it is only his imagination which is going till that level scientifically.?any way one thing is sure we are really lucky to be born in this earth. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
