Survivor: Did you love the lunch lady? It appears she lied?

It appears she lied. Mark Burnett gifted Survivor contestant Denise "Lunch Lady" Martin with $50,000 because her employer didn't give her back her cafeteria job when she returned from being on the show. It seems, though, that she actually went back to the higher paying custodian job she'd really had before she left.

What do you think of this development? hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2007/12/school-s... Asked by Sardis 52 months ago Similar Questions: Survivor love lunch lady appears lied Recent Questions About: Survivor love lunch lady appears lied Entertainment > Television.

I did not particularly care for the way she played the game. As for the $50K and the custodian job issue, I'd say she outplayed Mark Burnett, lol! As for the way she played, I really resented the way she portrayed her "sorry" life as a reason to win.

If you don't like your life, there are easier and more practical ways to solve it than hoping to amass sympathy on Survivor. You can't tell me she doesn't have motivation ~ isn't she a black belt in karate (or almost)? I think she comes across as a bit uneducated, so maybe that time in karate could have been better spent pursuing a degree.

I'm not saying that's what *I* think she should do, but it seems that she is the one who is not content with her lot in life, as a mom and a lunch lady.

I can see how the mix-up happened First of all, Denise didn't know Mark Burnett would get carried away and give her $50,000. She thought she was making an off-hand comment that would be quickly forgotten. What she essentially said was: "I can't go back to my lunchlady job, and I miss it.

If anyone needs a lunchlady let me know". According to her follow-up comments she said that although she had accepted the janitorial promotion, she regretted it. And she made the assumption that they wouldn't give her her old job back because of the distraction of fame.

However, the school district has revealed that they won't give her the old job back because they want her in this new position. Nothing to do with fame (according to them anyway). Bottom line is that she strrrrrrretched the truth.

I wouldn't call it an out-and-out lie per se. But she just put a spin on the situation. And little did she know that it would get waaaay blown up.

I'm proud of her because she really did the right thing by owning up to it immediately, apologizing, and donating the Burnett money to a charity. Shows she really is a stand-up lady.

She misrepresented things... a fraud I think She got the money under fraudulent pretense and she should be forced to return it. It is almost like someone saying they have cancer and no medical insurance and getting a whole church to take up a cause to collect money for her care only to find out it was a faked money making scheme (happended in my community a while back). The law doesn't take kindly to scam artists taking advantage of the good hearts of others.

She owned up to her lying.... Yesterday in the newspaper came the news that she donated the $50K to a cancer benefit. She had asked to be promoted to janitor before she went on the show. The way she carried on the "poor me" situation was terrible.

She was counting on people feeling sorry for her and paying up. Shame on her. I wonder how many people sent her a little check for "her suffering".

Denise deserves the 50K... Seriously, the guy who won the million dollars lied his way to winning. Todd was a schemer the entire time and he is now a millionaire. Well, after taxes, he's just a rich guy.

He lied on every episode and he didn't deserve the top prize over anyone. But isn't that really how life works out most of the time? The buttholes make all the big dough.

Denise was probably aided by CBS' producers to share this compelling/embellished story. And there is probably much more truth to the story than the media is claiming. More than likely the arrangement was made after she got back from filming the show.

This explains the kids knowing she is on the show and all that. Then the episodes air and... suddenly she is too recognizable. Who cares really?

She deserves the 50K. And anyone who is trying to raise a family on $7 an hour should be commended. Seriously, that is POOR.

Could you survive on $7 an hour in America. The value of our dollar is next to nothing compared to the rest of the world. Good for Denise! Sources: My experience and opinion... I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
