TabItem - how to access element in custom HeaderTemplate from TabItem Style Trigger?

I would set the style trigger on your Button instead of on the TabItem and use a RelativeSource binding to get the TabItem. IsSelected value.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
