Was the African-American pilot in the movie Flyboys historically accurate?

Yes Eugene Bullard was an American who stowed away on a ship and went to Ireland. He boxed for awhile before going to France and joining the French army. Later he was able to transfer to the Air Force.

Other Americans went to France to fly airplanes. They were formed into a squadron that was called the Lafayetter Escadrille (or squadron). S story and photo are on the website for the US Air Force Museum Interesting that he was one of only a few Americans who flew a fighter aircraft in combat and not many people know about him or that he was black.

Too bad the movie "Flyboys" did use his real name.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
