Many networks offer full versions of popular shows online the following day -- and there are online events. I don't know that anyone will be dumping their cable or satellite TV service anytime soon, but there is a lot more in the way of current television content available online. With the recent storms here in Northern California we had a number of shows that were missed during the four days of no power.

The following day we were able to watch all but one of those shows through the network websites. There are a number of news stations and other events available online as well. My guess for the future is more the Slingbox concept where online connectivity us used in addition to the normal cable or satellite broadcasting rather then as a replacement.

Slingbox allows you to control your DVR remotely (setup shows to watch) and view content that has been previously recorded via your high speed connection. So as long as you have access to a high speed connection somewhere you can use your laptop to view shows you recorded from home. I have seen a few different applications and websites that sllow you to watch broadcast stations that I suspect are being fed to the internet via any number of less then authorized methods.

None of those I looked at were of decent enough quality to really ever have me consider dumping normal television. Plus there was never any reliability to what would be on with respect to scheduling. But if Panasonic can make a 150-inch plasma TV, who know's what's next?.

Yes I know you are able to watch Live Sports online, but they require you to have a paid membership in order to do this.

Not really You can watch most of the broadcast network's shows online a couple of days after they are broadcast, but for live things like news and sports, there's no real way you can do that on your PC without a TV-in You could pick those things up on antenna, though .

" "Have you been watching different tv shows since the writers' strike started?" "How many people out there have actually ever taken a survey re. The music you like, or the t.v. Shows you watch?" "Are there any sites where I can watch tv?

Like regular shows? " "how do I connect my tv to my laptop to watch shows through slingbox?" "Can anyone recommend a reliable software that will allow me to watch tv, including HBO etc. , on my pc? " "Where can I watch free movies & TV shows online?

Also free sports events would be good.

How many people out there have actually ever taken a survey re. The music you like, or the t.v. Shows you watch?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
