Just read where brand name Aquafina bottled water is disclosing where their "springs" are. HA! It's local tap water.... well no kidding...... most bottled water is TAP water .....just hyped to be spring water, right?

Water is water I knew all along that Aquafina is tap water. But I've got no problem with that. I like tap water.
I like water in my water. I don't need any minerals in it. The Europeans chug their mineral water but it always tastes soapy to me.(At least it's better than their tap water, which is simply disgusting.) The question is, do you like the taste of it?
Sure, you may have a vision of cool, clear water from a mountain spring, but have you ever tasted it? I have.It tastes like water. (On rare occasions, it also tastes like giardia.
) At home, I drink water straight from the tap. I don't even bother to use the Brita filter most of the time. I buy bottled water so that I can have bottled water when I need to grab one (I sometimes refill them from the tap, or use my bike bottles, but they always taste terrible.
) I buy whatever water is cheap. With one exception: I like the taste of Dasani. They start with the tap water and add some chemicals to it (salt, magnesium something-or-other-ate) which give it a sweet taste.
I like it, and will buy it if it's available and not too much more expensive..
I'd SWEAR I heard this same story (or a similar one) years ago! I've known for a while that most of the water sold is tap water. I'd be interested to see if anybody else recalls seeing a news story several years ago.... But I have to admit that I really don't care whether its tap or spring.
I buy bottled water for the convenience of it. Like so many of us, I carry it with me, wherever I go. I'd read things about how bad it was to refill used bottles 'cause all kinds of nasty stuff breeds in them, even if you wash them out, so I was quite willing to just keep buying new ones.
The convenience outweighed the expense for me. But now I hear about how unecologically-friendly all these used bottles are--what a waste it is. So now I'm thinking that that's the really stupid thing I'm doing--(not that paying beaucoup bucks for tapwater is particularly brilliant)--but helping to deplete all the resources used in bottling, packaging, and transporting the stuff.
Still, I need to be able to carry around my water. Maybe I should go out and get an old-fashioned Thermos bottle! .
