The reason that people do this is because they were brought up to believe that it is an effective form of discipline. However child psychologists have proved that it does children emotional damage and stifles their emotional development. I think that society is changing though.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
