1 funnyvalentine, regarding your answer "forget physical labor": The danger about waiting tables/bartending is that you go home each night with cash in your pocket. This makes it VERY easy to spend before you can tuck it away. My cousin was notoriously bad about that when she was in college.
I was also just having this exact conversation with a co-worker who has a roommate who is a bartender. They'll hit the stores the next day and blow through all of their tips. When it comes time for them to pay their portion of the rent, they always have cash...it never makes it to the bank.
