When I had a better paying job, I used to get scalp massages on a regular basis. Usually at least 2 a month. I got them for a couple of different reasons, but the main reason was to improve the blood circulation and promote new hair growth.
I took a great deal of medicine when I was younger due to being very ill with Still's Disease. I lost over 50% of my hair during this time. While a lot of it did come back, not all of it did.My salon recommended these scalp treatments to help improve circulation and loosen up my scalp.
My scalp was so tight, that there wasn't much blood flow underneath. The other benefits included the release of stress. It really was ultra relaxing. My stylist used a deep conditioner on my hair while she did this.
So, it also improved the overall feel and condition of my scalp and hair. I also read that it helps the head to release toxins and waste. It's also my understanding that a scalp massage should be done only by someone who knows what they are doing.
You don't want to cause damage, rather than repair it. You can give yourself a scalp massage, but educate yourself on the correct way. Plus, it just isn't the same as someone doing it for you.
There are special tools for this now, but I haven't ever used them. I think that most salons offer them, unless they are one of those haircut chains. Some of those even do offer them.
The last time I got one, it was about 15.00. I am sure this varies per location and salon. A scalp treatment in New York City, at Elizabeth Arden is going to be outrageous.
My local salon in the backwoods of Kentucky is cheap.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
