What are the top three ways to get the remaining 25 billion barrels of oil out of Prudhoe Bay?

Prudhoe Bay oil field.

There seem to be confusion on the quantity of barrels in this field. The Prudhoe Bay oil field was first discovered in 1968 (41 years ago) and production started in 1977.

Today it is the largest oil field on Alaska's North Slope and the largest oil field in both the United States and in all of North America, it covers 213,543 acres (86,418 ha) and originally contained 25 billion barrels of oil (4.0×109 m3). The field is operated by British Petroleum (BP) as the main operator with 26%; partners are Conoco-Phillips Alaska with 36% and Exxon-Mobil with 36%. Nowadays, the field has 1.114 oil wells that had produced some 11 billion barrels (1.7×109 m3) over the years, leaving a total recoverable figure of 13 billion barrels (2.1×109 m3) with still some additional recoverable figure of 2 billion barrels (320,000,000 m3) that was last estimated by BP in 2006.

Prudhoe Bay oil production peaked at 2 million barrels per day in 1998. So in reality, the remaining oil to be extract from the field is estimated between 13 to 15 billion barrels, another 40 years of exploitation more or less. Oil companies typically recover only about one in three barrels of oil from their fields.

As for new approaches to extract the oil at Prudhoe Bay, those could be: 1. Injection of Carbon Clusters (called Nanoreporters). 2.

Heat or Chemical Injections to reduce Oil viscosity (using Hydrogen Sulfide). 3. CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) Enhanced Oil Recovery.4.

Natural Gas or gh Steam Water Pressure-Flooding Technology. 5. Computerize Three-Dimensional Imaging Models of Underground Fields.

Technology advances have made it possible to extract more oil from old fields. With a lot of oil still left in familiar locations, predictions that the world’s reserves are drying out have given way to predictions that more oil can be found than ever before.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
