What are Wraps/Pilchers/soakers?

These are all different names for water-proof or water resistance nappy covers - the bit that keeps leaks contained! I tend to use the term 'nappy cover' simply because it is easier for those who are not familiar with all the different terminology. Nappy covers are either breathable or non-breathable and can be pull-up style, or secure at the front waist or sides with Velcro type hook and loop tape or snaps.

Plastic, PVC and some nylons and polyesters are non-breathable while the breathable fabrics include polyester polar fleece, wool and some poly-urethane laminates. Wool is the most natural fabric for nappy covers (and is sometimes called a soaker, because wool covers can absorb some of the extra wetness from the nappy). Wool is very breathable, warm in winter, cool in summer and does not need to be washed as frequently as other covers.

Wool covers do require re-lanolizing regularly, and do take a long time to dry compared to other covers. The manufacturers washing instructions ... more.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
