What are your favorite cheeses for a grilled cheese? Do you just use one cheese at a time or a couple?

I love Cheese. I absolutely love cheese and have used many to make a grilled cheese. I have to say though that the type of cheese depends on the type of bread.

If I am using a sweet tasting bread then I like to use the sharpest cheddar possible. Usually though, if I am using plain old bread I like to do a mixture of cheeses: munster, cheddar mild, and monterey jack. Yummy yummy.

If I have a really good crusty bread I also like brie, usually addind in appricot jam before I grill it. The sandwich comes out nice and creamy and slightly sweet. Yumm... cheese.. I love cheese, in fact there are very few cheeses I don't like (such as feta, gorgonzola, blue cheeses, etc. ) My favorites are brie, mild chedder, provolone, and mozzarella. A really good combo is provolone and mozzarella. The mozzarella's mildness balances out the provolone's sharpness.

Mozzarella and parmasean are also good for the the same reason. I bet monterey jack and mozzarella would be yummy.My favorite though is a grilled cheese with whole grain bread,brie and cranberry sauce... yum yum! .

Mmmm I've never tried the chipotle cheddar and american together before...that sounds good! I'm a cheeseoholic and I'll try any combination of cheeses on a grilled cheese. I think my favourite combo is swiss and mild cheddar and monetery jack.

I find that swiss adds a nice twang to the sandwich. I also like just plain old velveeta on a grilled cheese occasionally. Another favourite is muenster and tillamook cheddar.

I also like to experiment with grilled cheeses....a sharp cheddar with crisp apple is so very nice grilled. I also made a banana and peanut butter grilled sandwich (no cheese though) the other day which was quite nice. Now I'm hungry.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
